The Powerhouse Cafe
The Redd is thrilled to welcome Meals 4 Heels as the current tenant of the Powerhouse — a brick-and-mortar space for BIPOC-owned food businesses to access the full suite of resources provided by the Redd campus, as well as ongoing business support.
About the Powerhouse
The Powerhouse is a brick-and-mortar opportunity for BIPOC-owned food businesses to access the full suite of resources provided by the Redd campus, as well as ongoing business support. As a restaurant-in-residence, it is ideal for an established food truck, coffee and bakery, or catering business that is looking to scale their reach through a secondary location. The Powerhouse is 150 sq ft, with a small outdoor eating space. Priority is given to BIPOC-owned, non-binary-owned, and women-owned businesses, who are able to lease the Powerhouse space on the Redd campus for two years.
Meals 4 Heels
Established in 2019, Meals 4 Heels began as a healthy meal delivery service created to serve Portland's sex worker community. Now situated at the Powerhouse Café, chef and owner Nikeisah Newton serves vegan and vegetarian meals to all from 11am-4pm, Monday through Friday.
The Meals 4 Heels menu emphasizes eclectic flavors and local ingredients sourced from food producers who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Newton is currently collaborating with Andrea Wade of Honeybee Lemonade & Syrups to also offer house-made sparkling sodas made with Honeybee products.
